If the tree pulls down any power lines or is at risk of damaging any gas lines, turn off your breaker immediately. Be sure to document the incident via photos and video from different angles. Call your insurance company to see how your plan covers the damage. Then, reach out to L and T Services to clean up the tree.

Your neighbor’s giant tree fell, and now half of it is in your yard (or maybe you are the neighbor). Who is responsible? If the tree falls during a storm or other extreme weather, the homeowner whose property the tree is on is responsible for contacting their home insurance agent.

Insurance carriers vary in their guidelines, in most cases insurance companies will not cover a fallen tree even during a storm if the tree is dead or dying. It will not be covered if the tree falls and doesn’t hit your house or other upstanding structure.
